"The city tells it own past, transfers its own memory, largely through the fabric of the built environment. Historic buildings are the physical manifestation of memory - it is memory that makes places significant." Neil Fraser
"Developers' money is like heroin to politicians." - Roy P. Disney, March 2, 2008, Los Angeles Times “We
need open, honest government that is working for people, not developers.”

I have admired the work and philosophy of Jennifer Siegal for a long time and recently had the fortunate opportunity to assist my friend Brian Thompson doing camera work for an interview with her for his Bravo design weblog. Jennifer has dedicated herself to the design and construction of responsible, sustainable, structures. Currently she is designing Customized, prefab, green Modernist homes. She also created the Mobile EcoLab which teaches students about the environment. Jennifer has been named one of the “Best and Brightest” in 2003 Esquire magazine. developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer corruption developer Building Industry association corruptioncorruption developer corruption developer corruptionSan Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud 5 Reasons Citizens Should Raise Some Hell Before the Election San Diego voter fraud 5 Reasons Citizens Should Raise Some Hell Before the Election San Diego voter fraud 5 Reasons Citizens Should Raise Some Hell Before the Election San Diego voter fraud 5 Reasons Citizens Should Raise Some Hell Before the Election San Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud San Diego voter fraud San Diego election fraud San Diego election fraud San Diego election fraud San Diego election fraud San Diego election fraud San Diego election fraud Obama election fraud Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption Mayor Jerry Sanders corruption developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout developer bailout homebuilder bailout San Diego Corruption San Diego Corruption San Diego Corruption San Diego Corruption San Diego Corruption Christine Mann Christine Mann Christine Mann Christine Mann stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill pork stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers stimulus bill developers |

Our Mission To make information regarding plans by developers accessible to as many people as possible so that you can question and stop irresponsible development in your neighborhood. We encourage development that considers valuable historic resources and development that is intelligently planned and considers architectural or historic precedent, sustainable strategies and utilizes professionals with an education and background in design. Valuable historic neighborhoods are under attack right now as small homes on lots zoned for Multi-family are being seized by opportunistic individuals who are only looking to make a profit building condos. The most successful strategy land developers use is operating under the radar of public knowledge and consent. If the public isn't informed about plans to tear old buildings down or develop tracts of land then they never have the opportunity to object. You have rights, but your leaders aren't going to do anything about them unless you are paying attention and you exercise them. Our goal is to provide you with the information you need to hold developers and city officials accountable for bad decisions regarding development projects. If you know of a potential demolition of a historic home, let us know and we will post it. We want to give a "face" to these valuable historic resources that are being lost forever due to lack of accountability. Why doesn't the city penalize developers for demoing homes without a demolition permit? Why are developers allowed to hire their own experts for the historical survey and these "historical experts" are lawyers who represent the developer and are not necessarily concerned, educated or trained about historic character. Why can developers circumvent historical designation by merely preserving a facade like in the case of the Egyptian or the Carnation building (facademanship)? Why can developers buy and demolish old churches without being required to notify the public or take public opinion into consideration? "Churches are typically the most important neighborhood landmarks but the least protected," says Michael Moran, vice president of Preservation Chicago. Why aren't your council members doing anything about it? Will the unions now grab their chance? - 09/25/06 Are you suspicious about what's really going on here... You should be. And I guarantee if the citizens don't do anything about it...no one will.
