DD GLORIA: DEVELOPER INTEREST CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTORS 2008 I hope that everyone gets the opportunity to meet Stephen Whitburn. He is as sincere, gracious and honest as any candidate could be. Most importantly he doesn't have the money!!! I dont know why Gloria's campaign is hammering him about this. I love that he loaned himself money instead of accepting it from the special interests. I don't think this guy could lie if he tried. I mean Todd is charismatic and friendly and seems genuine, but I'm sorry Todd we have been burned too many times. And if you can say no to developers then why didn't you. I mean you could have at least said no to people from the Manchester group. So that said, I have to get behind Stephen. I like that he has worked in journalism for 18 years. I have worked in journalism and you learn alot and you have to be objective. I like that he has lived all over the country. I think we need someone with a larger perspective that has seen what government works and what does not. I dont think I want a council member that has spent his whole life in San Diego and his whole career aspiring to be a council representative. I want a council member that has spent his life aspiring to be a good human being and decided along the way that he could really make a difference by being a council member (case and point Donna Frey). I want someone who doesn't owe anyone any favors for once. And he has already proven that he will fight for us When I built this website, I said that I would never use it to make money because I felt that that would invalidate the sincerity of my message, and I feel that Stephen is the same way. His message is not tainted by any sort of sketchy contributions. He is exactly what he says he is. He recognizes the intrinsic value of our historic architecture. He recognizes the often devestating impact new development has on our quality of life. So I encourage all of you to please take a very good look at this candidate.
