If a fair argument can be made that a historical resource exists then an EIR must be conducted- Environmental Impact Report

1st Immediate Step: We must ask all key players, in writing, for a full review by all members of the historic resources council. We have a right to this, and it will improve our chances. "We simply feel the house is too important for anything less."

2nd Immediate Step: Contact Ron May regarding the Tenative Map Issue.

CONVENTIONAL STEPS

1st Conventional Step:
We must allege that the house is a historic building in writing to key players.
1. IE: It is a very good example of the Arts & Crafts Style
2. There is no doubt that the house has historic value
3. There is a "fair argument" under CEQA that the house is historic and an EIR must be produced,
and an alternative must be adopted.
4. It is in an historic context, with same period historic craftsman houses on either side of property.
5. Reference THE SAMPLE LETTER provided by SOHO for appropriate language.

2nd Conventional Step:
Simply insist that an EIR is conducted if the historic report, which is currently pending, is
rejected.

3rd Conventional Step:
If the historic report concludes that the house isn't historic, and if the requests for an EIR are
ignored, then we must file a lawsuit. SOHO should be helpful in this event.
